Often times when you jump right into something you don’t do it completely right. Which is why sometimes in the world of internet marketing it’s good to get familiar with something before you start a huge project revolving around it.

For example, before you decide to make 100 auto blogs with a goal of making $3.00 a day per blog, try making one auto-blog and seeing what you think about the whole process. The same goes for writing your own blog, creating a free blogger blog before you go and purchase your own server, buy a domain, and spend a bunch of money on promotions for your website.

It’s good to know what you are getting into, before you get into it. I’ve made multiple websites impulsively, and ended up blowing tons of money on them and they were completely fruitless. I’m just using this post as a sort of friendly reminder to do research, and ‘test the waters’ before you make a decision you might regret.

Just a sort of pointless tip, I know I’ll continue to do things impulsively.

A favicon is the little icon you’ll see at the top of your web browser to the left of the url bar, or to the left of a tab when browsing firefox. It’s a 16×16 image that is used to make your website easily recognizable when going through bookmarks, and it ads a bit of cosmetics to your website. In my opinion it’s an essential addition to every website and it’s really easy to make. In this guide I will go over how to make a favicon in photoshop, but if you don’t have photoshop you can do a google search for a favicon generator and you’ll find something that works similarly.

First of all, you can download the file extension on Telegraphics. Once you’ve downloaded it, drag the .ico plugin out of the zip folder and into photoshop’s “plugins” folder. When you restart photoshop you should now be able to save your files in the .ico.

Open photoshop and create a square canvas, something you can work with like 100×100.

Create your logo doing whatever you know how to do. Favicons are usually very simple, maybe a solid color with a letter or 2. Or you could use a small sprite. There are some example favicons you can get some ideas from to the right. Or you can just look at the amazing favicon on my blog, which is an inverted rss symbol haha.

Resize your logo to 16×16 and save it as “favicon.ico”

Now simply upload the favicon.ico to the root directory of your website and it should show up within a couple of hours.

If you’re running wordpress you may need to add this code to the header so that wordpress knows to look for a favicon:<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”favicon.ico”>

That’s the guide don’t wear it out, haha. Hopefully this helps you to add some spice to your website!

Creatine is a legal bodybuilding supplement that is used to burn fat and build muscle mass. The thing is, Creatine retains about 30% of water, so most of your muscle gains aren’t permanent, and you aren’t building strength… your just getting bulkier. The good thing is, when you stop using creatine the water leaves your muscles and leaves some of the nutrients in them, so in the end you really do end up building some strength.

That lengthy explanation was made just so I could compare using creatine to purchasing traffic for your website. For the most part, when you buy junk traffic to your website it doesn’t do anything for you. You’re not going to get ad clicks, your not going to get CPA submits, nobody is going to subscribe to your blog, so what’s the point of purchasing traffic? Like bodybuilders using creatine (or steroids) you’ve got to do some work for the supplement to have any effect!

Here are some ways to monetize purchased traffic, and a few effects junk traffic has regardless of how you monetize it:

Before purchasing traffic, sign your website up for some topsites. When you purchase traffic, your website should skyrocket in rankings. While you rank high on a blog topsite, you might actually pull in some unique visitors. Whereas, being a low traffic website blog topsites do almost nothing for you, since nobody will see your link if your on page 20. Here are a few good blog topsites that you could sign up for.

blogtopsites.com

bloggdigger.com

blogs.com

blogifer.com

bloggernow.com

blogcatalog.com

hihera

topblogarea.com

topblogging.com

Depending on the type of traffic you are receiving, you could go up in Alexa ranking, which increases your website’s value.

Cookie Stuffing? Although I don’t think this is a very intelligent idea. You could stuff your visitors browsers with affiliate links and risk getting banned from all of them. There are many people who do well with cookie stuffing though, to each their own.

Well I thought I could come up with a lot more than that, but anyways… the topsite thing might be a useful tidbit of information to you!

Hotfile is a website that allows you to earn money every time somebody downloads something that you uploaded. Blog owners like me can also earn 5% of any profits made when someone becomes a premium member, but that’s not where the money lies. In order to sign up, or if you’d like to learn a bit more about the program, check out the Hotfile Website. The reason I said “Making Lots of Money” rather than “Making Money” is because there are so many ways to make money with Hotfile, at least one of the ways should help you hit the jack pot with this affiliate program! There are a multitude of ways to promote your Hotfile links, in my opinion the hardest part is figuring out what to upload!

A few options for things you could upload to Hotfile are:

Movies

Games

Softwares

The list goes on and on, and the only reason it’s hard to figure out what to upload is because there are so many things to choose from. What is it that people want to download most on the internet though? I’d have to go with a) music and b) porn, and luckily for us both of those things are really easy to promote! Plus, you don’t have to be completely honest when you are getting people to download your files, just as long as your not maliciously getting people to download viruses. Remember, what you’re doing is sharing files that really don’t belong to you… this is another one of those blackhat methods you could get in trouble for. To add a bit of humor to this article, let me just remind you that you wouldn’t download a car (well you can’t anyways).

So I would suggest going to torrent sites like; Thepiratebay or mininova to find albums of music or collections of porn videos that you could upload. Download what you need to download, and then re-upload the files to Hotfile. Alright, and now we get to move on to the fun part. Promoting your links!

I’m going to be as creative as I can and give you 5 ideas for promoting your Hotfile links, just be aware that when I can think of 5 ways to promote something off the top of my head… there are probably 100s of other ways that you could promote your links.

A) Use tinyurl or bit.ly to shorten your affiliate links!

Go on youtube and research some videos related to whatever you uploaded to hotfile and comment them with your link. For example; if you uploaded a music album then look up one of the songs in the album and view the video. Comment on that video with a shortened link to the album you uploaded.

In order to actually add links to a video, you could try uploading your own video to youtube and add the links in the description. Music videos and strip tease videos are always some of the most viewed videos on youtube. Just look at Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” Video.

Update your twitter profile (or other social networking profile) whenever you upload a new file. I’ll teach you how to build up a twitter profile soon. In this case I’ll just assume you already know how to get a lot of followers on your twitter profile. This would be the same as creating a blog in the same niche as the files you are uploading. Reviewing the music/videos and then giving your readers a download link.

One of my favorite methods of promotion would be to create a text file/pdf file with a link to your Hotfiles. Put that text file in a zip folder named something like EltonJohnAlbum.zip, and then turn that zip folder into a torrent file and upload it to thepiratebay.org. As long as you are uploading something popular to thepiratebay it will get plenty of traffic on its own. When people download your file thinking it has the mp3s, they will look at your text file and realize that the actual download is on hotfile.

Another option would be to join forums that revolve around sharing files. Porn/music enthusiastic/image/warez forums would probably work the best. You could add your links into your forum signature, and also write posts about your files.

Anyways, that’s my 5 methods for promotion, remember there are plenty more out there! Remember to signup for Hotfile and give it a chance, I know quite a few people that are making money with this website .
